Juan’s martial arts background began while he was in the Marines in 2003 being trained in MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program) earning his green belt in the MCMAP belt system but his liking of martial arts began as a child. He would always watch martial art movies and then go practice what he watched outside in his backyard. Being a big fan of movie martial artists like Steven Segal and Van Damme, Juan fell in love with the movie Kickboxer as a child and that movie is what made him fall in love with the art of Muay Thai. In 2010 a local Muay Thai gym finally opened up and he saw his opportunity to finally start training an art that he wanted to learn for so many years. In his 11 years of training Muay Thai Juan has coached numerous professional fighters, high-level amateur fighters and even MMA fighters, getting them ready for their fights. Not only does Juan bring his love and passion for Muay Thai, he also brings his military background techniques to his classes making it a well-disciplined class and a great experience to learn from.
